Six charged after man abducted in Edinburgh

Six individuals have been formally charged following the abduction of a man in Edinburgh. According to Police Scotland, reports were received around 10:30 pm on Thursday about a 22-year-old male who had been taken against his will from the Canonmills area.

The missing man was found the following day in the Longniddry area of East Lothian and was subsequently transported to a hospital for precautionary medical evaluation. During the police investigation, authorities temporarily closed the A198 road between Coal Road and the Cunningham Court junction to carry out their inquiries, but the road has since been reopened to traffic.

Those charged include five men, aged 21, 21, 22, 23, and 45, along with a 40-year-old woman. All six individuals are scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday in relation to the case.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the abduction, ensuring the safety of the victim and gathering evidence to support the charges brought against the suspects
