Stephen Bear, a reality television personality, was sentenced at Thames Magistrates’ Court after admitting to breaching the notification rules of the sex offenders register. Despite being ordered to inform authorities about any foreign travel, Bear went on an unauthorized trip to Brazil last year and publicly taunted police by posting videos online, claiming they would not be able to catch him. The court heard that he flaunted his breach by sharing footage of himself on a beach, openly disregarding the requirements imposed on him as a registered sex offender.
Bear’s actions came after he had been placed on the sex offenders register in 2023 for sharing a private sexual video involving his ex-partner Georgia Harrison without her consent. During his trip to Brazil, he failed to notify police about the travel beforehand and neglected to inform them within the required three-day period following his return to the UK. Additionally, he did not disclose obtaining a new passport and two new bank cards while abroad, further violating the conditions of his registration.
The court also considered Bear’s previous conviction related to the distribution of the private video, for which he was sentenced to 21 months in prison in 2023. After serving half of this sentence, he was released but continued to break restrictions by posting online about the case and his former partner across various social media platforms from March to July 2025. During sentencing for his new offenses, Deputy District Judge Claire Pithie emphasized the importance of Bear developing better strategies to avoid recurring legal troubles, especially considering he has a child on the way.
At the time of the hearing, Bear claimed he was unaware of the travel restrictions but now acknowledges the rules he failed to follow. He received a prison sentence of 24 weeks, which began immediately. A recent photograph of Bear was released by Essex Police following his sentencing, showing him in custody.
