Afghan boxer arrives at Greek court in connection with death of Scottish woman

A court appearance took place in Athens involving the individual suspected of murdering a Scottish aid worker in Greece. The victim, Elisabeth Jane Ross, was discovered in a suitcase at an abandoned location on July 18, shortly after she was reported missing.

The suspect, 26-year-old Sharif Ahmadzai from Afghanistan, arrived at the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Athens Court of First Instance around 09:40 local time. The hearing was conducted privately. Ahmadzai was detained on allegations that include intentional homicide, robbery, and weapons violations. The case proceedings have been postponed until Thursday.

For the court session, Ahmadzai was transported in a grey Hyundai i30 with heavily tinted windows. Following the hearing, he was led away by police officers whose faces were covered. Throughout this time, Ahmadzai kept his head lowered as he moved from the court building to the vehicle
