Early Sunday morning, Anita Woolnough set off for a walk with her dog at 5:25 AM and was the first to notice police activity in her vicinity. By the time she returned, the scene had transformed dramatically, with approximately 50 police vehicles present. She recalled seeing a significant police presence, including armed officers who were actively shutting down the event taking place.

Woolnough expressed relief upon learning that the police planned to maintain their presence in the area over the upcoming days. Meanwhile, Jason Langford, a resident of Great Blakenham, shared his astonishment at the scale of the response, remarking that such a situation was unexpected in rural Suffolk. He described the scene as chaotic, with road closures and numerous armed officers creating an intense atmosphere.
