Earlier announcements had already clarified that Meghan, along with their children Archie and Lilibet, would not be accompanying Prince Harry during the initial part of the visit, following disagreements regarding security arrangements.

Despite this, there was ongoing speculation about her potential participation in events later in the week, including an appearance scheduled at the NEC in Birmingham for the Invictus Games on Friday. However, it remains unclear whether Meghan will make any private visits in the UK, as reports suggest she might still be planning to join her family during the trip.

Representatives for Meghan have refrained from confirming whether she is currently in the country or if she intends to travel to the UK during this period. This adds to the uncertainty surrounding what has already become a complicated visit, which was primarily designed to support the Invictus Games—a sporting event for injured service personnel that will take place in Birmingham next year.

Originally, plans released two weeks ago indicated that Meghan would attend events in both London and Birmingham, marking her first public appearance in the UK since 2022. However, after a dispute concerning security levels, she withdrew from the London events. Although there had been hope she might still appear at later engagements in Birmingham, that option now appears off the table.
