Firefighters battle blaze overnight at Aberdeenshire industrial estate

Firefighters worked through the night to extinguish a fire at an industrial estate located in Aberdeenshire. The incident occurred in Tipperty, near Ellon, with emergency services first responding around 18:30 on Tuesday evening. At the peak of the firefighting efforts, nine fire engines were deployed alongside various specialist units to manage the blaze.

Due to the smoke generated by the fire, nearby residents were advised to keep their windows and doors shut for safety. Additionally, motorists traveling along the A90 highway close to the scene were cautioned to exercise increased care as smoke drifted across the roadway. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries linked to the incident.

As the situation improved overnight, the scale of the emergency response was scaled back while crews succeeded in bringing the fire under control. By around 06:30 on Wednesday morning, only one fire engine remained on site to continue damping down residual hotspots and to monitor the area for any further signs of re-ignition. The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed by authorities.

Among the businesses operating within the industrial estate, Connon Brothers Coal and Kiln Dried Logs confirmed that their fuel stock was not affected by the fire. They also stated that all of their vehicles and most of their plant equipment remained untouched despite the blaze
