In the course of the BBC’s investigation, researchers successfully purchased cocaine and cannabis from the shop during two separate visits. Additionally, the shop offered a variety of prescription medications for sale.
Trading Standards reported that, following these incidents, they had conducted 12 visits to the premises. During these visits, illegal cigarettes, tobacco products, and drugs were confiscated. The shop had also been identified as a significant problem in the community, with concerns raised about vehicles parking on double yellow lines, groups gathering outside, as well as issues related to litter and noise.
Following the initial BBC report in April, West Midlands Police arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in drug dealing connected to shops in Sandwell. These suspects remain on bail while investigations are ongoing.
