Currently, the planned visit of Prince Harry, Meghan, and their children to the United Kingdom is expected to proceed as originally scheduled. This would mark a rare occasion for the family to travel together to the UK since Meghan and the children have not been there recently. Prince Harry has previously expressed concerns about bringing his family without enhanced security measures in place.
Last year, the prince told the BBC, “I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point.” The core of the ongoing issue rests with the Royal and VIP Executive Committee (Ravec), which is responsible for determining the security provisions for senior members of the royal family and other public figures. However, Harry’s team highlights concerns about risks related to public engagements outside secure accommodations, specifically as the trip is intended to promote the Invictus Games—an event Harry founded, scheduled for Birmingham next year. A representative stated, “Prince Harry’s programme in the United Kingdom includes both public and private engagements across the country. Safe accommodation is only one element of an effective protective security plan because risk follows the person, not the place.” Meanwhile, while the government declined to comment on specific security details, a spokesperson emphasized that arrangements will be “rigorous and proportionate,” noting that disclosing details could undermine security and compromise their effectiveness
