Nottingham Forest's Callum Hudson-Odoi fined over no tax on supercar

Nottingham Forest’s winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has been fined more than £1,100 after a court found him guilty of failing to tax his McLaren supercar. The 25-year-old Premier League player was prosecuted by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) due to an unpaid vehicle tax on his McLaren 765LT.

Documents from the court revealed that Hudson-Odoi became the registered owner of the luxury car in February 2024. The vehicle’s annual tax expired at the end of January 2025, but almost a year later, the DVLA discovered the car still untaxed. It was spotted on Southmill Street in Manchester at 8:50am on 29 October, prompting further legal action.

The DVLA stated that they had offered Hudson-Odoi the opportunity to resolve the matter without court involvement, but he did not respond to this offer. As a result, the footballer was prosecuted for the offence of keeping a vehicle without a valid licence. He did not enter a plea and was convicted at York Magistrates’ Court in a private hearing under the Single Justice Procedure on 20 April.

At the hearing, Magistrate Karen Shackleton imposed a fine of £660 on Hudson-Odoi, in addition to £410 for unpaid tax and £85 in court costs. The winger, who joined Nottingham Forest from Chelsea in 2023, has made 43 appearances this season and scored six goals
