Jamie Bigg, widely recognized on the BBC’s Gladiators as Giant, has announced his departure from the show following the conclusion of its current series. The former professional bodybuilder and firefighter, who stands 6ft 5in (1.96m) tall and maintains his impressive physique with 52cm biceps and a 10,000-calorie daily diet, has been part of the revived Gladiators lineup since 2024.
Sharing the news on his Instagram account, Bigg described his experience as one of the greatest honours of his life. He emphasized his pride in representing qualities like strength and resilience on the program, adding that stepping into the arena and hearing the crowd’s energy was something he will always treasure. Bigg, from Ilkeston, Derbyshire, revealed in a statement that after he made it known he planned to be open about his relationship—specifically noting that his partner is an OnlyFans creator—he was informed he would no longer be continuing as a Gladiator. “I was faced with a choice that didn’t align with my values,” he said, underscoring his commitment to honesty and integrity, both as a public figure and a role model. He expressed immense respect for his partner and pride in supporting her, stating, “I’m proud to stand by her.”
A spokesperson for Gladiators issued a brief statement recognizing Bigg’s contribution over three seasons, saying, “After three formidable series, Giant is leaving Gladiators.
