Strictly Come Dancing: Man arrested on suspicion of rape will not face criminal charges

A male figure linked to the television show Strictly Come Dancing, who was arrested last year on suspicion of rape, will not be facing any criminal charges, according to police statements. The individual’s identity has never been officially disclosed to the public. The arrest occurred on 13 October 2025, after which the man was released on bail while investigations continued.

Hertfordshire Police confirmed on Tuesday that after consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service, they concluded that there was not enough evidence to proceed with any legal action against the man. It was reported that the woman involved was neither a contestant nor a professional dancer on the Strictly programme, but had encountered the man through his association with the show. Furthermore, the case is understood to be unrelated to the most recent series of Strictly Come Dancing.

Strictly Come Dancing, known for its run from September through December, is filmed at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. In an official statement, Hertfordshire Police clarified that the man arrested in London would not face charges after his bail, extended in January 2026 to allow for further inquiries, concluded in early April. Detectives determined insufficient evidence prevented bringing forward any formal criminal accusations.

Additionally, at the time of the arrest, the Metropolitan Police noted that the man was also suspected of involvement in “non-consensual intimate image abuse.” However, it has not been made clear what role the individual holds or held within the show’s framework
