Award-winning Stanley Park Market returns for 2026

Liverpool’s acclaimed Stanley Park Market is preparing to make its return next week, marking its third year running. Recognized as the city’s largest weekday market, it will reopen on Wednesday, 1 April, kicking off the new season with a special Easter-themed celebration. The market’s operations are planned to continue weekly through to December.

Originally scheduled to start on Wednesday, 25 March, the market’s debut was postponed due to health and safety concerns arising from predicted strong winds. Beginning 1 April, Stanley Park will host up to 100 stalls every Wednesday from 9 am until 3 pm. Vendors will offer a diverse range of goods, including fresh produce sourced locally, clothing, homeware, toys, and pet items. Additionally, visitors will find an assortment of hot food and beverage stands, as well as a spacious seating area perfect for meeting friends or taking a shopping break.

Throughout the year, the market aims to serve as a community hub by inviting various local groups and organizations to provide resources and support focused on health and wellbeing. The Easter Extravaganza event planned for the opening day promises family-friendly activities such as an Easter egg hunt, arts and crafts, children’s characters appearances, and visits from small farm animals. Health visitors and school nurses will be present to offer guidance on childhood health, while Everton and Anfield children’s centres will host creative workshops. Liverpool libraries will also contribute with a story corner for children.

Councillor Harry Doyle, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Health and Wellbeing, expressed enthusiasm about the return of the market, emphasizing its community spirit. “Stanley Park Market has become a beloved staple of our markets offer, so we’re excited to see it return for its third season,” he said. Doyle highlighted the market as a place where neighbors and families can connect, shop, and support local business. He also noted that Liverpool hosts numerous markets year-round, including weekly venues like Greatie and Garston, alongside farmers, artisan markets, and special pop-up events. Stanley Park Market itself earned the title of best community market in Britain in 2025 and received a highly commended award at the 2026 British Market Awards. However, the market will pause on days when evening football matches or concerts are held at nearby Goodison Park or Anfield Stadium due to the use of the site for those events
