A 15-year-old boy has been formally charged in connection with a stabbing incident at a Nottingham school which left another boy seriously injured. The victim, also aged 15, suffered stab wounds and was hospitalized, though his condition is not considered life-threatening.
According to police reports, the accused cannot be named for legal reasons. He faces charges including causing grievous bodily harm and two counts of possessing a knife on school property. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Berryman from Nottinghamshire Police described the event as deeply distressing for everyone involved, including students, staff, and the wider school community. He expressed gratitude for the cooperation and support offered by the school and local community during the ongoing investigation.
In a communication to parents on Friday afternoon, Dave Thompson, the head teacher, announced that the school would reopen on Monday. He assured families that normal school activities would resume as soon as possible and mentioned plans to address all students through assemblies to help them process the incident
