The identities of the three individuals who lost their lives in a road traffic collision in County Armagh over the weekend have been officially released. The incident occurred on Saturday evening on the Armagh Road near the village of Moy, involving three vehicles. Tragically, Conor Quinn, 31, from Derryloughan, County Tyrone; John Guy, 48, originally from Dublin but residing in Keady; and Laura Hoy, 23, from Cookstown, all died at the scene of the crash.
Assistant Chief Constable Davy Beck described the response by emergency services as swift, with police arriving within 12 minutes and administering CPR to several casualties. Despite their efforts, the three individuals could not be saved. In addition to the fatalities, four other people were injured, with three requiring hospital treatment. ACC Beck expressed his sympathy towards the families affected, acknowledging the profound grief and shock that has struck the local community. He also emphasized the complexity of the situation, noting the challenges presented by the dark conditions and the involvement of multiple vehicles.
Emergency response efforts were extensive, with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service dispatching multiple teams, including rapid response paramedics, emergency crews, and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), alongside an ambulance officer and doctor. After initial care at the scene, two injured were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital while another was transported to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The road closure lasted overnight and was reopened the following afternoon.
