Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 is scheduled to take place from the 9th to the 15th of February. The chosen theme, “This is My Place,” focuses on fostering environments—whether people, services, or locations—that help children and young people develop a strong sense of belonging. This emphasis highlights the importance of belonging as a key element in supporting mental health and overall wellbeing.

In 2025, nearly 7,000 students from eleven Liverpool schools, spanning Years 7 to 13, participated in the Oxwell survey. This extensive online study, led by the University of Oxford, aims to assess mental health and wellbeing among school-aged children and adolescents, also identifying the various factors influencing these outcomes. The findings from Liverpool students reveal significant insights into how children and young people perceive their sense of belonging within their educational settings.
