Tristan Shae Kerr, a 17-year-old boy, died following an incident in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, which resulted in five people being arrested. The police responded to reports around 17:45 GMT on Thursday that a teenager from the local village had suffered a serious injury.
Among those detained were three men: a 26-year-old from London, a 24-year-old from Abertridwr, and an 18-year-old from Cardiff. All three were arrested on suspicion of murder. Additionally, two women were taken into custody; a 28-year-old from Hereford and a 24-year-old from Senghenydd, Caerphilly, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Detective Chief Inspector Jitka Tomkova-Griffiths, leading the investigation for Gwent Police, confirmed that all five individuals remained in custody on Saturday evening. She emphasized that officers were continuing their inquiries in the area and urged the public not to speculate about the identities of those involved to avoid compromising the investigation.
