Love Island presenter Maya Jama and Manchester City defender Ruben Dias have reportedly been left heartbroken after their home in Cheshire was burgled on the evening of Wednesday, January 28. The incident occurred while Jama, aged 31, was shooting episodes of Love Island in South Africa, and Dias, 28, was attending Manchester City’s Champions League match against Galatasaray.
According to a spokesperson from Cheshire Police, an emergency call was received shortly after 11:10 pm reporting a burglary at a residence in Alderley Edge. Police officers who arrived on scene confirmed that intruders had forced entry into the property and several valuables had been stolen. Investigations into the crime are currently ongoing.

Meanwhile, Jama has been the face of Love Island since 2023 and has posted glimpses of her new home with Dias during the Christmas period. She also mentioned on Instagram that she owns homes in London, the Cotswolds, and Cheshire.
Their Cheshire property is located in a neighborhood known to be popular with current and former Premier League footballers. According to sources cited by The Sun, the couple is devastated by the burglary. Unfortunately, Dias and Jama are not the first footballers to fall victim to break-ins coordinated when players are away from their homes. Other victims in the area have included Dias’ Manchester City teammate Jack Grealish, who is currently on loan to Everton, as well as former City players Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez. While it remains unclear if the same group is responsible for all these burglaries, they appear to share similar circumstances in terms of timing and targeting
