Manchester snooker toddler secures Guinness World Records

A remarkable achievement has been made by a toddler snooker player who has set multiple Guinness World Records as the youngest individual to successfully complete two distinct trick shots. Jude Owens, from Manchester, accomplished a pool bank shot at the age of two years and 302 days on October 12, 2025. Prior to this, he had executed a snooker double pot at two years and 261 days, securing his status as the youngest person to perform both feats.

These extraordinary accomplishments place Jude among the youngest dual record holders in the history of Guinness World Records. When asked about his preferred snooker shot, Jude simply stated, “A trick shot.” His father, Luke Owens, expressed pride in his son’s rapid progress: “I think for me, Jude’s achieved quite a lot in such a short space of time. But for him to achieve not just one, but two world records, it’s probably the pinnacle moment. How do you even beat that in life?”

Jude’s natural talent for snooker was first noticed by his family at home, where the toddler quickly developed a love for the game. Luke shared that, although he began playing snooker at age 10, Jude showed more innate skill at a young age. He recalled, “I think I realised once he put the cue through his fingers and it was dead natural the way he did it.” Initially, accommodating Jude’s height for playing was a challenge, but the family adapted by using household stools, which helped him practice shots comfortably.

When asked who would win in a snooker game—Jude or his father—the young player confidently answered, “Me.” Outside of snooker, Jude is passionate about Manchester United and is described by his family as “obsessed” with Bruno Fernandes, also impressively able to sing every word of “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” Craig Glenday, editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, commented, “Record-breaking has always belonged to everyone – regardless of age. To see someone as young as Jude display such skill, enthusiasm and determination is incredibly special. We’re thrilled to welcome him into the Guinness World Records family.
