A 33-year-old male has been formally charged with the murder of Wayne Reid in Coleraine, located in County Londonderry. He is scheduled to make an appearance at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday. The deceased, 43 years of age, was discovered at a residence on Society Court in Coleraine on the 12th of January.
In connection with Mr. Reid’s death, seven other individuals remain under investigation. This group includes two men, aged 30 and 41, along with five women whose ages are 19, 33, 38, 39, and 45. These individuals are still undergoing police questioning as part of the inquiry.
The 30-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of murder on Sunday. Prior to this, law enforcement secured a court order to extend the detention period, allowing an additional 36 hours for the questioning of three other suspects. Those being held, arrested on Friday on suspicion of murder, include a 39-year-old woman, a 33-year-old woman, and a 41-year-old man.
Further arrests were made on Saturday when a 19-year-old woman was also detained on suspicion of murder. Meanwhile, a 28-year-old woman, initially arrested on Friday, has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
