Authorities investigating the death of Wayne Reid in Coleraine have recently apprehended four additional suspects. The 43-year-old victim’s body was discovered at a residence located in Society Court earlier this week, specifically on Monday. Following the discovery, police arrested three women, aged 28, 33, and 39, along with a 41-year-old man on Friday, all on suspicion of murder.
In addition to these arrests, a 33-year-old man detained on Wednesday on similar murder charges remains in police custody. Law enforcement officials were granted an extension of 36 hours on Friday to continue questioning this individual in connection with the case. Investigations suggest that Mr. Reid, who was reportedly a father and had connections to Scotland, may have been involved in a confrontation that occurred in the area between Thursday, January 8, and Saturday, January 10.
The circumstances surrounding his death involve an incident either in Society Court or nearby Society Street. Emergency responders, including police and ambulance crews, were called to the home in Society Court at approximately 11:30 GMT on Monday. Upon arrival, Mr. Reid was found deceased at the location and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police continue their inquiries as the case develops, with all suspects currently held on suspicion of involvement in Mr. Reid’s death. No further updates on the investigation or the condition of those detained have been released at this time
