TikTok personality Harrison Sullivan, known online as HSTikkyTokky, will not be required to cover the full expense of a private jet that was used to return him to the UK from Spain after evading court proceedings for nearly a year. A judge made this decision following Sullivan’s involvement in a crash in Surrey earlier this year.
In March 2024, Sullivan, aged 24, crashed his McLaren in Virginia Water and then failed to appear in court for twelve months. During this period, he traveled to several countries, including Dubai, Thailand, and Spain, while continuing to post content on social media. In November, he received a suspended prison sentence for dangerous driving and driving without insurance, alongside a two-year driving disqualification.
The court heard that Surrey Police chartered a private flight from Spain, costing around £15,000, in order to bring Sullivan back to face charges. The total combined expenses incurred by both the police and the Crown Prosecution Service for his return amounted to over £28,000. However, District Judge Julie Cooper determined that ordering Sullivan to repay the entire amount was unjustified, particularly because the use of the private jet was deemed “not necessary or proportionate.”
Judge Cooper directed Sullivan to pay £17,320.27 to cover prosecution and police costs. She expressed skepticism about the necessity of the private jet, stating, “It is not just or reasonable for him to pay a chartered flight when I have been given no satisfactory explanation for why that should be.” The judge acknowledged concerns over Sullivan’s public profile as a fitness influencer, suggesting that a first-class commercial flight might have been a more appropriate alternative to prevent recognition and minimize public disturbance. Sullivan’s lawyer noted that he was “surprised by the private jet” and was “calm and compliant” during custody. The court also learned that tracking Sullivan’s location had been facilitated by his frequent live streams, making him easier to find despite initial challenges involving international cooperation
