Pro-Palestine protesters get inside BBC Scotland building

A group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators briefly occupied the reception area of the BBC Scotland headquarters located in Glasgow. The protest took place inside the Pacific Quay building by the River Clyde, where approximately ten activists carried flags and banners, chanting slogans related to the ongoing situation in Gaza.

The protesters targeted the media outlet, accusing it of failing to accurately report on events unfolding in Gaza. They succeeded in entering through the building’s main turnstile doors and gathering in the lobby. However, they did not manage to go beyond the initial security gates that restrict access to the deeper parts of the facility.

Police officers arrived on the scene, with two officers visible inside the building wearing high-visibility vests. Despite their presence, the demonstration lasted over an hour without any reported arrests. Eventually, the protesters chose to leave the premises voluntarily.

This incident adds to a pattern of demonstrations outside the BBC’s Pacific Quay headquarters, reflecting ongoing tensions related to the conflict between Israel and Palestine. The building has frequently been a focal point for such protests calling for changes in media coverage
