Plane crashes in Talgarth field with pilot taken to hospital

Firefighters had to carefully cut a pilot free from their plane after it crash-landed in a field. The incident occurred in Talgarth, Powys, around 11:40 GMT on Saturday, prompting emergency crews to rush to the location.

Upon arrival, rescuers worked to stabilize the damaged aircraft before safely extracting the pilot trapped inside. Following the rescue, the individual was transported to hospital for medical treatment. The fire service finished their work at the scene by approximately 13:50.

According to the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, the operation was made particularly difficult due to the presence of fuel lines running throughout the aircraft’s structure and aviation fuel contained within its wings. These hazards increased the complexity of the extrication process.

In addition to the fire service, the response involved an ambulance service, an air ambulance, and police personnel, all coordinating efforts to manage the emergency effectively
