Harry and Megan Tooze: Man arrested 30 years after murder of couple

An 86-year-old man has been taken into custody in connection with the murders of Harry and Megan Tooze, a couple who were shot dead more than three decades ago at their farmhouse in Llanharry, Rhondda Cynon Taf. The couple, aged 64 and 67 respectively, were discovered in a cow shed on their Ty Ar y Waun farm on 26 July 1993, both bearing shotgun wounds. This arrest follows a recent forensic examination of the cold case carried out by South Wales Police in 2023.

Detective Superintendent Mark Lewis, the senior investigating officer, stressed that although this arrest marks an important development, inquiries are still ongoing.
