A fatal collision took place on Monday morning in County Meath, resulting in the deaths of two men. The incident occurred around 06:30 local time on the R132 road in Gormanston, involving a lorry, a bus, and a car. Tragically, the drivers of both the lorry and the bus lost their lives at the scene. The lorry driver was in his 40s, while the bus driver was in his 50s.
In addition to the fatalities, serious injuries were sustained by others involved in the crash. A woman in her 40s, who was driving the car, and a teenage girl who was a passenger were both transported to hospital with severe injuries. Alongside them, several other individuals were taken to hospital with injuries reported to be non-life threatening.
The bus involved in the collision was operating on Bus Éireann’s route 101 service. The company has confirmed the accident and described it as a major incident.
