Chao Xu jailed for life for drugging, raping and filming victims

Chao Xu, a Chinese national living in the UK, has been sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 14 years after pleading guilty to 24 sexual offences. These offences, which spanned from November 2021 to June 2025, included sexual assault, voyeurism, and upskirting, all committed against six women. Described by Judge Christopher Grout at Woolwich Crown Court as a “sexual predator” and “an incredibly dangerous man,” Xu is believed by police to have hundreds of victims, and authorities are urging anyone who suffered abuse at his hands to come forward.

Xu, 33, who moved to the UK in 2016 and graduated from the University of Greenwich, conducted networking events in his south-east London flat.
