Yet, nobody should be under any illusions – despite such possible inroads into different and cheaper sources of orange concentrate, the pure stuff will eventually become more cherished, even if it isn’t today.
On a warmer planet tends to come sparse crop sizes, and the current price increases are largely based on fears over longer-term operations.
It might be hard to swallow today, but with shopping baskets changing year on year, it could be only a matter of time before those lofty prices come to a head.
