Pizza Hut reveals locations where restaurants will close

Pizza Hut will be closing 68 restaurants and 11 delivery outlets across the UK, resulting in 1,210 job losses. The administrators have been appointed to DC London Pie Limited, the operator of Pizza Hut’s UK restaurants. However, the global brand owner Yum! Brands has intervened to save the remaining 64 pizza restaurants and 1,276 jobs.

The struggling UK business of Pizza Hut has faced challenging trading conditions and increased costs, leading to its recent administration. Cashflow issues arose due to tax-related obligations, compounding the company’s difficulties. The joint administrators are committed to supporting the employees who have been made redundant during this challenging time.

DC London Pie had acquired Pizza Hut UK’s restaurants from insolvency earlier this year, with plans to revive the business. Yum! Brands continues to own and operate 343 Pizza Hut delivery outlets across the UK, alongside the newly retained 64 pizza restaurants. The closures will affect locations such as Brighton, Hull, Bristol, Leeds, and Edinburgh, among others.

The list of Pizza Hut restaurants to be closed includes Ashton, Beckton, Bolton, Bournemouth, Bradford, Cardiff, Carlisle, and many more. Additionally, delivery outlets in Aylesbury, Bletchley, Coventry, Dunstable, and several other locations will also shut down. The decision to close these establishments is part of a strategic move to streamline operations and focus on sustainable growth in the future
