Four more people arrested in Raunds murder investigation

Authorities have apprehended an additional four individuals in connection with the suspected murder of a 73-year-old man. David Morgan, also known as Davie, was discovered deceased at his residence on Brook Street, Raunds, Northamptonshire, on 8 October, six days after reporting an assault. The recent arrests include a 52-year-old man from Kettering, a 42-year-old man from Wellingborough, a 42-year-old woman from Kettering, and a 42-year-old woman without a fixed address, all on suspicion of murder and burglary. Earlier on, a 38-year-old woman from Thrapston was detained on suspicion of murder before being released on bail by Northamptonshire Police.

Detective Chief Superintendent Rich Tompkins from Northamptonshire Police has characterized the ongoing investigation as intricate. Tompkins mentioned, “We have a very large number of officers and detectives working around the clock on this case exploring all evidential opportunities including CCTV and doorbell footage and forensics.” He added that the four new suspects are in police custody and emphasized that there is no perceived wider threat to the public concerning this inquiry. Six days before his passing, Mr. Morgan had reported an assault to the Northamptonshire Police, prompting them to refer themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

Following the launch of the investigation, Detective Chief Inspector Johnny Campbell expressed condolences to David’s loved ones during this challenging period.
