British tennis player Emma Raducanu had to retire from her match with American Ann Li at the Wuhan Open, citing struggles with the hot and humid conditions in China. Raducanu, the British number one, fell behind 6-1 4-1 before calling for a trainer and ultimately retiring from the match after having her blood pressure and temperature checked.
The Wuhan Open marked the first time Raducanu failed to advance past the opening round of a tournament since Indian Wells in March.
