A man has been taken into custody for allegations of murder, while five other individuals have been apprehended for purportedly aiding an offender following the discovery of a body in a residence in Leicester. Emergency services were summoned to Sawley Street by paramedics at 01:37 BST on Sunday, where they found a man in his thirties with a stab wound. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Law enforcement revealed that a 44-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder, while the other five men, ranging in age from 24 to 53, were arrested on allegations of assisting an offender. The street was cordoned off for the duration of the day, but the cordon has since been removed, as stated by the police.
Officers affirmed that all the suspects are presently in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Tim Lindley expressed, “We have reason to believe that the incident transpired inside the property on Sawley Street during the early hours of the morning, resulting in the tragic death of a man.” He further added, “The victim and the individual held for murder have a prior relationship, and our immediate focus is to ascertain the precise details of what took place.”
