Former Chelsea and Leeds United footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink reveals he’s struggling with nerves

Former England footballer Hasselbaink, who is known for his time at clubs such as Chelsea and Leeds United, said that he is “not confident at all.” He continued, “In football, I knew what I was doing. Here, if someone shows me the day, the Friday, the Tuesday, they all look the same to me.”

Hasselbaink seemed to be finding his partnering process difficult as well, adding: “Latin dancing… it’s amazing they come up with these things. The choreography is always in my head, swirling. Am I really going to pull off a believable paso doble? It’s [dancing] not going to happen for me. My [professional dance partner] has the patience of a saint.”

This year’s show – at least before it starts airing – first found itself in the headlines after reports came in of a hit and run involving Araya.

“I’m not confident but my issue is that I’m a singer! I don’t know if I’ll remember those steps,” Araya, the Steps girl band member admits. “I’m terrified.”

And that is before the competition has properly got started. Good luck to all this year!
