Firefighters tackle fire at Battersea block of flats

A significant number of firefighters, around 80 in total, are currently engaged in combatting a fire at a block of flats situated in Battersea, located in south-west London. The London Brigade (LFB) has reported that the entire top floor as well as the roof of the four-storey residential structure on Maysoule Road is engulfed in flames. In order to address the situation, firefighters are utilizing a 105ft (32-metre) turntable ladder which functions as a water tower to assist in extinguishing the fire from an elevated position.

Upon arrival at the scene, fire crews proceeded to evacuate the building, donning breathing apparatuses to ensure their safety. However, it remains unclear at this point whether there have been any individuals who sustained injuries as a result of the fire. The specific cause of the fire has yet to be determined and as such, investigations are ongoing to ascertain what led to the outbreak of flames. The situation is being closely monitored as firefighters continue their efforts to bring the fire under control and ensure the safety of residents in the area
