Belfast: Police investigating racially motivated criminal damage

Incidents of racially motivated criminal damage in north Belfast have left residents feeling fearful and on edge. Graffiti was painted on a house in the Manor Street area, with windows smashed and a nearby car damaged, sparking concerns in the community. Independent Councillor Paul McCusker expressed alarm over the escalating race attacks, stating that residents are now living like “prisoners in their own home.”

Additional reports of damage were made in the Manor Street and Summerhill Court areas of north Belfast, leading authorities to investigate a potential link between all three incidents. Ch Insp Mullan of the police force condemned such intimidating behavior, emphasizing that there is no place for it in society. The community is urged to work together with local representatives and partner agencies to ensure safety and security for all.
