Living through significant historical events such as the Titanic disaster and two world wars, Mrs. Caterham’s life spans a remarkable period of time. Growing up as the second youngest of eight children in Shipton Bellinger, Hampshire, she later lived in Tidworth, Wiltshire. During her teenage years, she ventured to India to work as an au pair before settling in places like Hong Kong and Gibraltar with her husband Norman, who served as a lieutenant colonel in the army.
On her 116th birthday, Mrs. Caterham plans to spend a quiet day with her family to savor the occasion in her own way. Her care home expressed gratitude for the kind messages and interest shown towards her milestone celebration. It is worth noting that the longest verified lifespan belonged to Frenchwoman Jean Louise Calment, who lived to be 122 years and 164 days before passing away in 1997
