Police seize £180k of Andrew Tate's Aston Martin supercar deposit

In a recent development, Andrew Tate has had £180,000 seized by Devon and Cornwall Police for a deposit he made on a special-edition Aston Martin supercar. The controversial British-American influencer paid the deposit for the Valhalla vehicle in 2021, according to Westminster Magistrates’ Court. This cash was determined to have come from tax evasion and money laundering, leading to account freezing and forfeiture orders under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Interestingly, Tate and his brother Tristan did not contest these orders.

This sum adds to the £2.7m confiscated from the brothers by authorities in December 2024 for failing to pay taxes on £21m in revenue from online businesses. Some of this revenue was allegedly tied to human trafficking allegations faced by the Tate brothers in Romania. The police informed the judge that the funds used for the supercar deposit were connected to tax and VAT evasion as well as money laundering. Specifically, the funds had originated from a Coinbase cryptocurrency account, which contained various cryptocurrencies acquired through the brothers’ business activities without paying taxes or VAT.

Detective Superintendent Jon Bancroft of Devon and Cornwall Police expressed satisfaction with the recent ruling, emphasizing the force’s commitment to pursuing criminal funds without hesitation. He highlighted the successful outcomes in both the Tate brothers’ cases, noting that the seized money would benefit the local community by funding crime prevention initiatives, supporting victims and vulnerable individuals, and contributing to charitable causes. The police’s diligent efforts in reclaiming illicit funds underscore their unwavering dedication to upholding justice and combating financial crimes
