Hardeep Singh Kohli, a renowned comedian and former participant of Big Brother, is facing allegations of indecent assault towards a woman within a BBC studio, as outlined in court proceedings. The 56-year-old has refuted six sex-related charges involving three women spanning from April 2007 to December 2016. The incidents in question reportedly took place at the BBC Scotland headquarters located at Pacific Quay in Glasgow. One specific claim states that he unexpectedly grabbed a woman’s buttocks and embraced her. Additionally, Mr. Kohli is accused of making inappropriate remarks and facing other assault charges. A trial date has been scheduled for November to address these accusations.
Hailing from Kelvinside in Glasgow, Mr. Kohli previously served as a journalist on BBC’s The One Show and featured as a panelist on The Wright Stuff aired on Channel 5. Among the allegations, he is also accused of committing an indecent assault at the Raddison Blu Hotel in Glasgow, where it is alleged that he touched her back and played with her hair. The charges pertaining to a second woman detail an incident at the Cross Keys Hotel in Canonbie, Dumfries and Galloway, where he supposedly grabbed her arm, made a sudden advance towards her, and aimed to kiss her face. An assertion of consent as a defense has been put forth regarding this incident. Furthermore, Mr. Kohli faces accusations of disorderly conduct and a breach of peace during the encounter.
The final charge leveled against Mr. Kohli involves the sexual assault of a third woman at the former Yes Bar situated in Glasgow’s city center. Allegedly, he seized her, hugged her, and attempted to kiss her on the mouth. During the court hearing, Urfan Dar, Mr. Kohli’s legal representative, affirmed that the defense team is fully prepared for a trial that is anticipated to span four to five days. The prosecution, represented by Sean Docherty, declared their intention to call in seven civilian witnesses as well as a police witness.
