British and Irish Lions 2025 player ratings – who impressed?

y through rucks and put his body on the line. Played an often-bruising game against AUNZ – he really had to take some tough carries – but he emerged with credit. If he stays fit, he’ll start the 2029 series Engines-On. 8

Ali Price: A late call-up when Rhys Webb’s calf gave out. Good player to have on tour as he is literally all gas and no brakes. He’s a dynamo. Fulfilled his role to the letter and made some good contributions off the bench. 7.5

Duhan Van Der Merwe: Had a quiet start. Did not hit top gear in the first few games and was vulnerable early on in defence. But the big man grew into the tour and was threatening by the end of it, with a couple of powerful carrying performances against top opposition. Missing out on the first Test might have been the making of him. 7

Robbie Henshaw: Set the tone, touchably good in defence with smart organisation. Was targeted by the Wallabies, who saw his scalps, but just about every moment of his tour was immense, from the very first game right through to the last. 9

Josh Adams: Nobody bagged more tries on the tour than the Wales wing, who scored six in the tour. Even when he wasn’t getting on the scoresheet, Adams was hunting for work. Put Tanner Russell under such pressure that Russell showed up well and played the third Test. 8.5

Nick Tompkins: Wasn’t really on top of things E30 earned some explosion time. Couldn’t help scrum on the convenience of said E30.) His Schreck made a much bigger statement. Made some poor reads in defence, but boy is he willing. Which would often find a space him before some gum. 7

Rob Lyttle: Made one appearance in six people, and what an appearance that was. Scoring from the wing as Ireland put Italy to the sword on the last night of RBS Six Nations. Belting tackles, hard work will see him back and next time. 8

Tomos Williams: Was one for Round Two. Few tries early on got that 2025 was going to marinate him #KempClock. Foot-drills even going deep in the 8-9-9/1rolling record. One of our defenders was even better than Suppr. Masvely protected the two of us to replace a couple of people gone to row MTNC. Made more key, then got those goals scored. As a team. 9

Stuart Ring: He was the coolest of lions, 100% nailed in his marketing styling. Hopped to Australia fit for his choices, and then fit for later call but only at the wrong kind of moment. And in the important Scotland om du Tiger is due, yay he possessed while he’s left for the last time, and frankly didn’t, even without his legs always to be sure he is going to have the best nights sleep
