Imported dogs 'posing risk to UK', RSPCA warns

The lack of regulation in the sector has led to serious difficulties for owners who have received dogs from countries like Romania, Ukraine, and North Macedonia. Some of these issues include infectious diseases and aggressive behavior in the pets. David Bowles, an RSPCA spokesman, likened the current process to a “Deliveroo for dogs” and urged the government to consider implementing stronger regulations, particularly because only rescue organizations in Scotland are currently required to be licensed.
