Faulty washing machine caused huge Fife circus fire

A circus performance in Fife was disrupted by a large fire that was later determined to have been caused by a faulty washing machine, as reported by BBC Scotland News. The incident occurred at the Big Kid Circus in Glenrothes, Fife, just after 19:00 on a Thursday evening. Thankfully, the fire outbreak took place away from the main Big Top tent, ensuring that none of the audience members were harmed during the incident.

Lisa McCann, the service manager at Fife Council, confirmed that the fire originated in a box van due to the faulty washing machine, emphasizing that it was located far from where the attendees were seated. This allowed the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to declare the area safe for the continuation of planned events at the circus.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire appliances to the scene at the Warout Playing Fields to contain the fire. Despite the disruption caused by the incident, the circus managed to carry on with its Kingdom of Kong show which features a towering 30ft tall animatronic gorilla. This performance in Glenrothes marked the fourth out of ten scheduled shows in the town, following successful tours in Motherwell, Cumbernauld, and Falkirk last month.

The Big Kid Circus, known for its captivating performances, has upcoming dates set for Balloch, Kilmarnock, and Carlisle throughout the summer holiday period. It is imperative to note that the fire outbreak caused by the faulty washing machine did not deter the circus from continuing its tour and entertaining audiences across various locations
