Firefighters are currently working to extinguish a large fire at a multi-storey building in Perth that started in the early hours of the morning. The incident took place at the junction of Scott Street and South Street. As of 8:00 AM, there were still 11 fire engines present at the scene to deal with the blaze.
The roof of the building, constructed from red sandstone and housing the Royal Bar on the ground floor, has been completely consumed by the flames. The severity of the fire can be seen as the flames burst through the windows and tore through the roof, causing significant damage to the structure.
As a result of the fire, the authorities have closed off access to Scott Street, South Street, and Canal Street in order to allow the firefighters to effectively manage the situation. Residents and pedestrians in the area have been advised to steer clear of the vicinity to ensure everyone’s safety as emergency services work to contain the blaze
