Pride in Liverpool and March with Pride cancelled for 2025

The LCR Pride Foundation, the organization responsible for Pride in Liverpool and the city’s annual March with Pride event, has announced the unfortunate cancellation of the 2025 event scheduled for Saturday, July 26. The Board of Directors expressed their deep regret in having to make this decision due to financial and organizational challenges faced by the charity in recent months. These challenges have led to difficulties in securing funding and planning the event, ultimately resulting in the cancellation.

Despite efforts to work with sponsors and partners, the organization was unable to overcome the obstacles, leading to the heartbreaking realization that the Pride event cannot take place this year. The decision to prioritize the sustainability of the organization and plan for the return of Pride in Liverpool in 2026 was made to ensure a safe and community-led celebration for the city region. Discussions with Liverpool City Council and local sponsors are underway to make next year’s event possible.

Councillor Harry Doyle expressed disappointment over the cancellation, acknowledging the importance of Pride in Liverpool for the LGBTQ+ community. While the absence of the event will be felt this year, efforts will continue to support the community and promote unity. The Council will work closely with the LCR Pride Foundation to ensure that the community can once again march with pride in 2026. Any registration fees paid for the 2025 event will be refunded, and organizations that had registered to march will not receive invoices. Support for the LCR Pride Foundation’s mission can be provided through donations. Additional regional Prides are scheduled to take place in the Liverpool city region throughout the summer to celebrate diversity and inclusivity
