Portuguese and German police are presently conducting a search for Madeleine McCann in Lagos, near Praia da Luz, Portugal. The investigation, as reported by the BBC’s Phil Mackie, is under time constraints, with authorities having until Friday to cover a 21 sq km (8.1 sq miles) area between the location where the toddler disappeared and where the prime suspect, Christian Brückner, had been residing at the time.
Christian Brückner, a 48-year-old individual, is currently incarcerated in Germany for the 2005 rape of a 72-year-old American tourist in Portugal. However, there is a possibility of his release as early as September. Madeleine McCann was three years old when she vanished in 2007 while vacationing with her family in the Algarve.
