Fourth man arrested over fires at homes linked to PM

A series of fires connected to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has led to the arrest of a fourth man, as reported by the Metropolitan Police. The 48-year-old suspect was apprehended at London’s Stansted Airport after being stopped by officers under the Terrorism Act, 2000. He was later arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life. The charges stem from three incidents – a vehicle fire in Kentish Town, north London, a fire at the prime minister’s private home on the same street, and a fire at an address where he previously resided in Islington, north London.

The unidentified man has been transported to a London police station and is currently in custody. Three other individuals have already been charged in connection with the fires. Ukrainians Petro Pochynok, 34, and Roman Lavrynovych, 21, along with Ukrainian-born Romanian national Stanislav Carpiuc, 26, are scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday. Lavrynovych, a resident of Sydenham, faces three counts of arson with intent to endanger life, while Carpiuc and Pochynok, from Romford and north London respectively, have been charged with conspiracy to commit arson with intent to endanger life.

The fires occurred in quick succession, with a fire at the former home of Sir Keir on May 12, followed by a car set ablaze on the same street on May 8. Additionally, another fire was reported on May 11 at the front door of a house converted into flats in Islington. The investigation into these incidents continues, with authorities working to ensure the safety of the Prime Minister and the affected communities
