Joey Dunlop to be honoured in Ballymoney event

Ballymoney paid tribute to the iconic Motorcycling legend Joey Dunlop in a special event that took place in County Antrim. The Joey 25 celebration commemorated the 26-time Isle of Man TT winner, who tragically lost his life in an accident during a race in Estonia in July 2000. The event witnessed the gathering of famed riders such as Carl Fogarty and Jonathan Rea, who rode some of Dunlop’s original bikes around the town, showcasing his enduring legacy.

Organized by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council in collaboration with the Dunlop family, the event saw Joey’s daughter Donna McLean and son-in-law Michael McCammond represent the family in a parade around the town. Joey’s son Gary expressed that holding the event in his father’s hometown was the perfect way to honor his memory, acknowledging the continued support and love from fans over the years.
