Early this morning, Chris Brown was taken into custody in Manchester for an alleged incident that occurred at a nightclub in 2023, as reported by The Mirror. The 36-year-old singer was arrested at The Lowry, a prestigious hotel in Manchester, around 2:00 AM on Thursday, shortly after arriving in the UK. The specific details of the alleged crime that took place two years prior at a nightclub in London have not been disclosed.
According to a statement from the Met Police to The Mirror, Brown was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and is currently being held in custody. The incident in question allegedly occurred at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023, and detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit are leading the investigation. In 2023, producer Abe Diaw accused Brown of assaulting him at a nightclub in Mayfair, London, claiming he suffered severe and lasting injuries after being struck in the head two or three times.
Diaw subsequently filed a civil claim against Brown, seeking $16 million in damages for the injuries he allegedly sustained and the losses he experienced as a result. Despite the legal issues Brown is facing, he is scheduled to perform at 10 upcoming shows in the UK as part of his Breezy Bowl XX Tour. The tour is set to begin on June 15 with two shows at Manchester’s Co-op Arena, followed by performances in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, and other cities throughout June.GemmA
