A teenager from Britain was recently apprehended in Tbilisi, Georgia, under suspicion of drug-related crimes. The individual in question is 18-year-old Bella Culley from Billingham, who had reportedly disappeared while in Thailand. Culley stands accused of unlawfully purchasing, possessing, and bringing in substantial amounts of drugs, specifically marijuana.
According to reports from Georgian law enforcement, if Culley is convicted, she could potentially face a sentence of up to 20 years behind bars or even life imprisonment. The British Foreign Office has acknowledged the situation and stated that they are providing assistance to the detained woman’s family during this challenging time.
Police in Georgia disclosed that they had intercepted approximately 12 kilograms of marijuana and slightly over 2 kilograms of hashish, a narcotic substance, concealed in a travel bag at Tbilisi International Airport. Officials detailed that through collaborative efforts and investigative procedures, the suspect was apprehended by the Main Directorate for Combating Illicit Drug Trafficking and the Customs Department.
