Despite being hospitalized due to lung disease, Block’s determination to continue using drugs was evident. During his hospital stay in 1994, he even managed to sneak in cocaine wraps through a hole he chomped in the protective screen.
Block’s early introduction to music during his school days eventually led him to a DJing gig at a London pub in his late teens. Initially steering clear of drugs after a negative experience with cannabis, everything changed with the emergence of acid house in 1988. His journey to international fame led him to Ibiza, where he co-headlined sets at the legendary Space venue.

Under the guidance of Dr. William Shanahan, he detoxed and began applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to confront his anxieties instead of numbing them with drugs.
After overcoming his addiction, Block found purpose in advocating for mental health and addiction awareness. He became an ambassador for SMART Recovery, a charity that provides support using CBT techniques to address drug use. Despite his tumultuous journey, Block continues to share his experiences, spreading a message of hope and recovery for those facing similar struggles
