A drug gang in Nottingham has been apprehended after a substantial amount of crystal meth, valued at over £7m, was intercepted by authorities in the UK and US. The mastermind behind the operation, Davante James, who also worked as a boxing coach, frequently showcased his opulent lifestyle and extravagant vacations on social media. Additionally, one member of the gang used his position at a pharmaceutical company to fabricate customs labels for legal merchandise, like weight loss shakes.

James spearheaded the UK division of an international endeavor that brought in hundreds of kilograms of illicit substances from the United States. Images emerged of James flaunting Rolex watches, expensive cigars, and even pretending to devour stacks of banknotes. Nottinghamshire Police disclosed that the profits from James’ narcotics enterprise funded his trips to various destinations worldwide, such as Thailand, Dubai, and Central America.

The gang, consisting of individuals like Rakeem Thomas, Lemar Taylor, and Kian Raymond, orchestrated the drug trafficking activities. The investigation led by Detective Inspector Ian Smith resulted in the largest seizure of crystal meth in Nottinghamshire, a substance known for its highly addictive nature. The operation aimed to saturate Nottinghamshire and the surrounding regions with the drug, despite crystal meth not currently being a prevalent issue in the area.

The group employed a strategy of shipping 71 parcels disguised as weight loss powder, furniture, clothing, and motorcycle helmets to numerous addresses within Nottinghamshire and beyond.
