DJ and producer Michael Bibi recently released his first track in two years, titled ‘Sungazing (Electronic Mix)’. Describing it as a “miracle”, he shared his emotional journey on social media. In 2023, Bibi was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, CNS lymphoma, which resulted in him taking a break from the music industry to focus on treatment.
After completing his main treatment, Bibi made a comeback to the DJ scene and confirmed in December that he was in remission. He then fully returned to the DJ circuit in 2024, including headlining the ‘One Life’ show in London’s Finsbury Park, which aimed to raise funds for cancer research and promote the stem cell transplant charity, The Anthony Nolan.
Teaming up with Alexa Sunshine Rose, ‘Sungazing (Electronic Mix)’ marks Bibi’s first release post-diagnosis. In an Instagram post, he expressed his gratitude for the support he received during his health battles and shared his hope that the song would offer solace to others. The track features empowering lyrics reflecting Bibi’s journey through illness and recovery.
